Biography

The Data Lakes is an electronic music producer known for creating serene, immersive soundscapes coupled with layers of emotional melodies, hypnotic basslines and progressive beats. The unique tracks draw on a multitude of electronic genres from ambient, through melodic techno and then sometimes onto trance territory. The early EP’s released in 2023 showcased both layered studio production with Americas EP and the immediacy of live recordings on analogue gear captured in the Treading Water EP. This was swiftly followed up in 2024 with the acclaimed live recordings of One Up featuring the stand out tracks Unimprovement and Exit Strategy stretching out the sounds of the earlier works.

IN 2025, The Data Lakes released their complex and diverse first full length album, Hope Breaks featuring 11 tracks ranging from piano led electronica to maddening drones . Taking a break from computer based production with a new DAWless setup, led to the live EP Lasting Formations and then another Live EP Trains at Night where all the tracks originated as live jams that were later enhanced in the studio.
